Who says your morning java can’t have a little flare. Here is a great post with examples of arty/designy coffee cups. Enjoy.

Nice, clean, simple. I found this website on http://siteinspire.net, I really like the simplicity of the design, the large images and brief, but to the point copy. Check it out.

I just found this great poster for Big Trouble in Little China, a classic action movie starring your favorite action man and mine… Kurt Russell. This is not the original cover design, but an adaptation illustrated by Tyler Stout for a viewing of the movie in Austin, Texas, 2007. I have included the original for reference.

Upon doing some further research (typing the film title into Google), I discovered The Wing Kong Exchange (http://www.wingkong.net/). The site carries a bunch of memorabilia, some interesting facts and keeps you up to date with anything ‘Big Trouble’. I just found out that South Park have done some episodes referencing the movie. I know what I going to be watching tonight ;)

Finally, I also found this tattoo whilst doing my intensive research. Now this is a real fan…

iPhone pic manipulated in Photoshop express app. I like this logo, it’s from a local clothing store. It has a little wild west feel mixed in with some European style typography.

To follow up my last post, here are a selection of Black Keys concert posters. Each show of their 2010 tour had it’s own custom illustrated poster created by various (very talented) local artists. The respective poster for each venue was for sale at the show in limited quantities, often signed by the illustrator. I’m impressed by the quality, variety in style and narratives throughout the series. It would be a great collection for a gallery or coffee table book.
